Thanksgiving (Thursday Nov. 23)- We had dinner at our house this year. Mommy was in charge of the Turkey, cherry pie, and rolls. She had never made the turkey before, so that was a fun experience. Everything turned out great and Grandma brought over the rest of the food. We ate lots and lots of food, which you also enjoyed. Thursday evening the Newbolds called us and asked us if we wanted to go up to Ivy's Uncles' cabin. We left Thursday night at 10:00 so you and Colleen could sleep on the way up to the Mountains. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive which put us up in the mountains at 2:30 in the morning. You slept part of the way, but for some strange reason you woke up half way there and stayed awake. Of course then you didn't want to go to sleep once we arrived. Friday morning we woke up late and headed out to Maggie Valley and Cherokee. We had lunch in Maggie Valley and then headed up to Cherokee.
Our first stop was at Bear World. We bought some food and we were able to feed the bears. The bears were huge and hungry. They would stand up on their back legs to beg for some food. They would also stand up on the wall right below you and so then they seemed really close. You were fascinated by them and loved feeding them. We also saw goats, which you were able to pet, and some tigers. You are so cute, you get so excited every time you see an animal. You point and laugh/talk to the animals. We then headed up to Cherokee and saw an Indian Dance show. You were getting a little restless, but you still enjoyed watching them dance. Friday night the Willifords came up and joined us. Saturday we woke up and drove up the mountain so that we could walk up to the talk. You were the only baby still awake, so you came with us. It was such a beautiful view and all you wanted to do was get down and walk (there were cows and a bull on the top so Mommy didn't want you to get down). We then went down into Waynesville and looked at all the shops. You did good until we stopped to eat lunch and then we knew it was naptime for Kinleigh Brooke. It was a super fun weekend and we were all sad to have to come back.
