Vacation Time

Day Four:  We woke up early, went down and ate our breakfast, noticed glass all over the parking lot, measured the kids and saw that Kinleigh would just barely be able to ride all the rides, and that Levi is tall enough for the younger rides.  Went upstairs to change and sent Daniel out to the car to get our swim stuff!  That is when I get a phone call with Daniel telling me not to freak out but that someone had broken in our windows.  Now I understand the glass in the parking lot.  At first we thought nothing was stolen.  Then over the course of the next two days we realized they had taken my nice diaper bag/purse (that was luckily only filled with diaper stuff), Daniel's work laptop and case that had his back up drives in the laptop case, my camera case with my expensive camera and all accessories, Daniel's new GPS watch that was in his laptop case, Levi's backpack full of kids books and Kinleigh's journal, and my favorite portable high chair.  Not only was our stuff gone but no shop in Kansas City could fix our windows that day.  We took it to a shop and had them vacuum out the glass and then tape up the windows but by this time it was after lunch and I was too paranoid to leave my car in a big parking lot.  We visited some church sites and then headed up to Omaha a night early.
We were able to visit the Independence Visitors Center, the RLDS Temple, and Liberty Jail.  All three kids fell asleep on the 15 minuted drive from the visitors center to the Liberty Jail.  It was worth waking them up!  What a neat feeling when you enter into the church sites.  It always amazes me what the early Pioneers had to go through and yet they kept believing.
The Sweeney's were fantastic....  Not only did they allow us to come a day early but they stayed up late and greeted us in the driveway with a big sign and tons of love.  We are so grateful to have them in our lives!
