Company Party

Poor Daniel had not seen Kinleigh in 10 days and now was having to leave her again. Daniel had his company work party up in D.C. Saturday night and no babies allowed. Kinleigh, of course, was so exhausted that I had to wake her up at 10 and give her a bath and ready to go over to the babysitters. (The Mom kept her for the day since the babysitter had to work, and she claims Kinleigh was good.) Daniel and I hop in the car and head off for another four hour drive up to D.C. Everything seems to be four hours. We get to the hotel, check-in, and park in record time (right at 4 hours). We always say it takes four hours, but it usually takes about 4 1/2. The hotel is located three blocks from union station and one block from the capital building. We will never get to stay in a hotel that close again. We got ready for the party that was at Union Station. There were about 900 employees and each could bring one guest. First they did a awards ceremony and recognized the employees that had been there 25+ years (love for that to be Daniel one day). Then, we ate this fancy dinner and socialized. After dinner it was open bar (good for those who drink, not us), live band and dance floor, and a jazz bar upstairs. I have never been to something so fancy and fun! We felt like rich people for the evening (then back to reality). We had a blast. However, Kinleigh was not having a blast back home. We called our babysitter at 8 Sunday morning to find out that she had been up all night coughing of course neither of them getting any sleep. There was the end of our nice evening get away. Poor Kinleigh! I swear she always has a cold.
